Henie-Onstad Art Center

Since I guess most Norwegian knows about this Art Center, I write this in English.

The Center opened in 1968, named after the founders Sonia Henie and her husband Niels Onstad. The Center is located about 10 kilometers outside Oslo. All of Sonia Henies achievements as a figure skater are exhibited there (3 gold medals in Olympic Games ++ around 1930 - 1940) , and so are all of their private art collections. It is a center primarely for showing comtemporary art - I can mention Yoko Ono amongst artists who have had exhibitions there.

Both of the founders are burried on the area.

The center looks very modern -- perfect for displaying modern art. I once saw a movie with Sonia Henie in it. She was a marvelous skater.

Man I got my countries mixed up. For some reason I thought Sonia Heine was Finnish. Maybe she competed in the Helsinki Olympics and that's where I got that idea?
