Staggering that they can withstand water that cold isn't it? That pond can't be but a couple of degrees above freezing, but it doesn't seem to bother them a bit.

Great photos as always. I'd love to know how you got close enough to get that last one! Did you bribe them with food?

They are all lovely, but the last one is so different, I just love it.

Ha, the last one is just so unique. Like Mojo, how did you come that close?

Mojo; (laughing..) Of course I bribed them with food! Everyone does, visiting that lake! have to say, the birds are very familiar with people there, it is a very popular place to watch birds - ore simply go for a walk.

But to be honest - I cropped the photo! :)

Oh my hat's off to them for being able to withstand the cold waters. Great capture.

I'll bet the ducks and geese are some happy to finally see open water on a regular basis! I know I am ; )

Nice feet!

These were great. My favorite kind of shots - water. :-D I lie the detail in that last shot. You can see the drops of water on its feathers.

Great leg shot. I often forget just how colorful duck legs can be.

So it's still cold in Norway. I, too, think the wet duck belly is fabulous.

What great shots! I love the way you have gotten closer with each photo! I was so impressed with the second shot, the reflection of that patch of blue sky, but then I scrolled down to the third shot, and just gasped! The detail is astounding!! The water droplets, especially!

No doubt that Østensjøvannet is something special regarding wild birds.
